Set up and removal for events including basketball, hockey, concerts and special events. Conversions usually last somewhere between 3 to 6 hours depending on what we are doing that shift. Being part of the conversion crew requires motivation, team work and above all the ability to multi-task. Conversions generally start between 7pm and 11pm and can be any day of the week with potential to start as early as noon on the weekends. Knowledge/experience with common tools and equipment used in custodial and warehouse operations are helpful.
This unique hands-on position will assist in cutting live highlights & fan clips during football, men's & women's basketball, men's hockey & additional Buckeye sport home events used on Ohio State Athletics digital media platforms. Position will be responsible for effectively communicating with the digital media department through messaging to provide the team with video clips & GIFs in real time. Individual will be expected work home football games, including pre & postgame duties.

Event Management volunteer interns serve as the secondary event managers at all home athletics events, assisting the primary event manager in the coordination of all event needs, including but not limited to redcoats, ushers, security, parking, officials, visiting teams, media, etc. Interns also prepare materials for upcoming events during scheduled hours in the Event Management office each week. All interns are required to work a minimum of 15 events per semester, plus 2 football games during the fall semester, in addition to 2 hours in the office each week.

Primary job is general housekeeping for Athletics facilities: duties include cleaning locker rooms, restrooms, common areas, practice spaces, offices and set up/tear down of events and games. Students may also occasionally assist with light maintenance projects such as painting and replacing ceiling tile. Grounds positions also include mowing, painting and maintenance of athletic fields and lawns. Ice rink positions will also include skate and ice surface maintenance and rental responsibilities.
Street Team volunteer interns support the department's efforts of grassroots marketing. The goal is to gain exposure for our 36 sports on campus, in the community, and at our home athletic events. Require 10 hrs of event activation throughout each month. Have the opportunity to advance into Fan Experience, which supports game day execution of promotions, sponsorship, and recognitions at all spectator friendly sports. The job of the outside services is to maintain the daily flow of outside activities. Outside services includes cleaning carts, pulling member bags, picking the range, & going through daily upkeep in order to maintain our standard of impeccable service. Outside service employees need to be friendly, courteous & make sure all golfers know where they are going & are aware of any events on property. Outside services must be able to stand for up to 8 hours & be able to lift upwards of 25-50 lbs.
The golf shop staff’s main job is knowledge, hospitality, and customer service. The golf shop staff is the face of the Ohio State University Golf Club. They are the first person guests have contact with when they arrive on property and even before, over phone interactions. The golf shop staff is here to help answer any questions the guest/customer may have and to accommodate the guests accordingly. The golf shop staff has the duty of knowing and relaying all golf course rules and regulations.
Servers/bartenders are responsible for displaying outstanding customer service skills to our members and guests at all times. Duties include timely service, detailed order taking and accurate acceptance of payment, setup, breakdown and resetting of events, completion of side work, re-stocking and closing responsibilities, and ability to work effectively with others. The starter is the first person on the tee. The starter must run the tee sheet & ensure all groups start on time & in proper sequence. The starter is responsible for ensuring every group knows the rules for the day & golf cart restrictions, enforces range rules, & makes sure all players meet the dress code requirements. The starter needs to be friendly & courteous, & is to make sure that all golfers teeing off are told the cart rules, & to please repair their ball marks & sand divots.
Primary responsibilities of this position are focused on the design execution of requests within Athletics and Business Advancement. The position reports to the Creative Director and Graphic Designers, and assists the team on projects ranging from print, digital, interactive, motion, social media, installation graphics, etc.

Schottenstein Center Arena Ushers will greet guests as they arrive, conduct security checks, scan tickets, direct guests to their seats, answer questions and provide information. As the “eyes and ears” in the arena, you are expected to keep a close watch on the crowd and intervene in situations when appropriate and call for assistance when it is needed. You are on the “front line” providing remarkable experiences for our guests – you will experience the excitement and energy of the event!
Event Management Assistant provides support to all areas of the department, including: guest services, security, and parking. Responsibilities include working with the Event Services Facility Coordinator with regards to meeting spaces and building tours, Dispatching and responding to event concerns and emergencies, and event management duties. This position is an event based position and therefore works mainly from mid-day to evening on event days or in the days leading up to the event for preparation. The hours of Event Management Assistant are entirely dependent on event schedules.

Traffic Attendants represent the Schottenstein Center as a front line customer service representative during events. They will direct guests to the appropriate parking area to help ensure that guest parking is as safe and efficient as possible. Attendants assist Traffic Management and CampusParc with inflow and outflow of traffic during events. Attendants assist with any special set-up of JSC lots for events. They act as Ambassadors for the facility and assist guests with concerns.

Work with a pool of drivers to resurface the ice for Men’s Ice Hockey practices and games. Practices are in the mornings Monday through Saturday, depending on availability (some evening skates are also possible). Games are generally on Friday and Saturday evenings. Experience driving an ice resurfacer is required.
Works directly with the Director of Communications involving the promotion of concerts & events presented at the two arenas. The major emphasis will be working with "The Arena Guy" to maintain & expand the brand mostly through social media. Will produce a monthly podcast; knowledge of podcast production is very important. Will regularly produce videos that require editing & production. Internship start is this summer & continues through school year(s). 15-18 hrs per week expected
The Ohio State Department of Athletics Video Services is looking for student animators/motion graphic designers/video and LED board operators to work athletic events at The Jerome Schottenstein Center, Ohio Stadium, The Covelli Center, St. John Arena, Bill Davis Stadium, Buckeye Field and Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The position is two-faceted, in that students can create graphics and animations when there are not events going on, but also can operate the scoreboards during events.
This position gives you the opportunity to work alongside other students as well as full-time staff in a unique and historic athletic building that hosts a variety of athletic games and special events year round. Performs general custodial services and minor maintenance on facilities. Maintain a safe and clean facility for daily visitors as well as for those attending events. Set up and clean up for a variety of athletic games, concerts and other special events.
Provide excellent guest service to fans attending Ohio State events. Directing and assisting guests to their seats or to find other amenities provided inside the facility. Directing and assisting guests to services outside of the facility (roadways, restaurants, hotels, etc.) Assist with the enforcement of NCAA, Conference, University, and Athletic Department rules and regulations. Responsible for creating motion graphics and images for LED and video boards in all of our arenas and stadiums. Also responsible for the operation of these boards on game days, which includes displaying sponsor content, animations, statistics, headshots and internal messaging by following the script given to us by both Fan Experience and IMG. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (primarily After Effects) and 3D animation packages (such as Maya and Cinema 4D) preferred.

Must be currently enrolled in credit hours through a College/University and have organizational skills, detailed documentation and good communication. May be required to assist with special projects, basic bookkeeping, preparation of presentations, and preparation of schedules. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

SCAs serve as a primary contact for a designated team and work with that team on a day-to-day basis. Duties include writing, research, media relations, social media and website updating. The job includes some office hours as well as coverage at various events, including football and men’s basketball.
These positions are primarily for general housekeeping, with duties including cleaning locker rooms, restrooms, common areas, practice spaces, and offices. The engineering department duties include performing general maintenance during normal day shift hours Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. There are also some opportunities for evening and weekend hours depending on event needs and special projects. This position requires someone that is willing to learn and adapt to various working conditions, and different systems including, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
The Athletics IT Helpdesk student position requires Excellent verbal and telephone skills. Familiarity with Windows 7, Mac OSX, PC hardware and software, imaging, installation, and troubleshooting desired. iPhone/iPad troubleshooting desired. Position also takes shifts in a front desk capacity. Duties may also include routing phone calls, assisting with preparing offices for meetings, and signing for & delivering packages within building.
Video students help handle the filming and processing of practice and game video under the Video Coordinator.
This position carries out general housekeeping and maintenance of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. The duties are as follows:
- cleaning restrooms
- cleaning offices

- replacing ceiling tile
- using power tools/hand tools.
The hours that are available are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 10:00 pm and weekend shifts based upon practices/events.
Duties include selling tickets at the ticket counter for various athletic & special events; answering general questions and assisting with online ordering via telephone; assisting in the mailing of season and single game tickets for OSU sporting events; processing ticket orders for athletic & special events; working on upkeep of the Ohio State Athletic Ticket Office database.
Assists with live video production for Ohio State athletic events using professional equipment including video switchers, replay, and cameras for primarily the arena and stadiums videoboards. Other positions include producing, directing, and providing the teams with “official replay” camera angles.
Acts as first-exposure representative of Athletics and Business Advancement (Fawcett Event Center) to visitors and guests, providing competent assistance to compliment their experience during their visit. Hours vary with class schedule; usually 8-5, M-F.
The Zero Waste student reports to the Sustainability Coordinator for Athletics and Business Advancement. The focus of this position is to assist with Zero Waste at Ohio Stadium on football game days. The student’s role will be to manage dumpsters, correct contamination, distribute red tailgate recycling bins, and to educate fans on Zero Waste at Ohio Stadium. This person will work on Saturdays for home Ohio State Football games. Student supervisor roles are available.
